NCFU and the Gaziantep University have agreed to launch an academic mobility program – now NCFU students will have a chance to undergo training subject to the Erasmus Plus program while teachers may be invited to deliver lectures.
This project not a totally new one since NCFU has already got some academic exchange with the Gaziantep University dating back to 2015, when 5 of our students joined the Mevlana Exchange program run by the Ministry of Education of Turkey. Those students spent a semester in Turkey studying Food Technology, Tourism, Hotel Management and Hospitality Business (all delivered in English), while Prof. Sonya Uzdenova travelled to Turkey to lecture on tourism in Russia as well as to talk about the North Caucasus and its tourism potential. However, that was a bilateral project, so six students and one teacher from Turkey were welcomed at NCFU.
Now, the agreement holds that up to 10 NCFU people are going to travel to the Gaziantep University within the Erasmus Plus program.
– We are encouraging every student to join the program, – Vlaadimir Samoilenko (Head of Dept for International projects & programs) said. – The Gaziantep University is a large public university with very good facilities, offering degrees in Engineering, IT, Economics, Pedagogy, and Medicine. And now there are numerous options available. Besides, the exchange program will cover all the related expenses, including travelling and accommodation, while the participants will be also paid a good monthly salary – USD 700, which is more than enough to live well in Turkey.
This fact is true indeed since Vadim Ardzhanov (student, NCFU) is one of those who travelled to the Gaziantep University to study Human Resources Management, Investment Projects and Financial Management, also picking some command of Turkish.
– The university is really well equipped, with a library, a gym and various cafes on the campus. And the quality of teaching is good. Apart from new knowledge I got to know the culture of Turkey – a country that I find very much hospitable and full of love to national cuisine and music.
Gaziantep is the sixth largest city of Turkey with a population exceeding one million, and the place is one of the largest centers of industry. The city is located in the South-East of the country, featuring modern buildings of concrete, glass and metal standing next to a maze of old curving streets, ancient mosques and even a fortress.
