The Preparatory Department for International Citizens of North Caucasus Federal University offers pre-university training programs. The programs include modules for studying the Russian language and specialized disciplines according to the chosen academic track.
Engineering Track
Target audience: International citizens with no prior knowledge of Russian who plan to pursue degree programs taught in Russian in fields such as Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Nanoelectronics, Electrical Power Engineering and Electrical Engineering, Design and Technological Support of Mechanical Engineering Industries, Petroleum Engineering, and others.
Natural Sciences Track
Target audience: International citizens with no prior knowledge of Russian who plan to pursue degree programs taught in Russian in fields such as Mathematics and Computer Science, Physics, Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, Chemistry, and others.
Biomedical Track
Target audience: International citizens with no prior knowledge of Russian who plan to pursue degree programs taught in Russian in fields such as Biology, Biotechnology, Food Products from Plant Raw Materials, Food Products of Animal Origin, Psychology, Medical Biochemistry, Pharmacy, and others.
Humanities Track
Target audience: International citizens with no prior knowledge of Russian who plan to pursue degree programs taught in Russian in fields such as Advertising and Public Relations, Teacher Education, Linguistics, International Relations, and others.
Economics Track
Target audience: International citizens with no prior knowledge of Russian who plan to pursue degree programs taught in Russian in fields such as Economics, Management, Human Resource Management, Business Informatics, Public and Municipal Administration, Tourism, and others.
Study Conditions
The Preparatory Department offers training programs lasting 12 and 18 months.
Study groups consist of no more than 12 students. The curriculum includes practical classes, lectures, and laboratory sessions. The maximum classroom load is 40 academic hours per week.
At the end of the academic year, students take examinations in Russian language and in their major-specific disciplines. Upon successful completion of the program and passing the final examinations, graduates are issued a certificate from North Caucasus Federal University.
Application Deadlines
For 12-month program
Application start date: June 20, 2026
Classes begin: October 1, 2026
Tuition fee for the 2026–2027 academic year: 128,000 RUB
For 18-month program
Application start date: June 20, 2026
Classes begin: March 1, 2027
Tuition fee for the 2026–2028 academic year: 200,000 RUB
Required Documents:
· A copy of the identity document of the international citizen in the Russian Federation with notarized translation (the passport must be valid for at least 18 months from the date of entry into the Russian Federation);
· A copy of the educational qualification certificate with an officially certified translation into Russian attached;
· A completed application form of the established format (sent after registration in the NCFU Integrated Information System and after tuition payment, if an invitation for entry into the Russian Federation is required).
Admission Requirements
The Preparatory Department programs are open to international citizens and stateless persons who have completed secondary general, secondary vocational, or higher education. To confirm educational qualifications, applicants must submit a document of foreign education and/or qualification of the appropriate level.
Admission of international citizens to the Preparatory Department is conducted on the basis of direct agreements with organizations and individuals, with full reimbursement of tuition costs, except for international citizens and stateless persons admitted under the quota established by the Government of the Russian Federation.
The payment of the tuition fee is made as a one-time transfer prior to the arrival at the university.
Classes start on October 1 of the current year (12-month program) or March 1 (18-month program) as groups are formed.
Students of the Preparatory Department are provided with accommodation in a dormitory.
The university arranges migration registration for Preparatory Department students.
