About the Foundation course

The Foundation Course of NCFU runs studying programs for international students interested in learning or improving their Russian language skills. 

The program includes not only Russian language, but also subject trainings in the necessary disciplines of the students’ future specialization.

It is one-year program (2 semesters).

If you successfully complete the Foundation Course program, you will be able to apply to an undergraduate or postgraduate program in Medium Russian at the University.


Application for the Foundation Course 2023-2024 academic year:

Duration of study: October/ November 2023 – July 2024.

Start date: October-November.

Tuition: ₽ 103 000.

Application deadlines – 30 September.

FCE prepares students interested in undergraduate courses such as Applied Informatics, Infocommunication Technologies and Communication Systems, Oil and Gas Studies, Applied Geology, Technology for Geological Exploration, Construction, Electronics and Nanoelectronics, Power Industry and Electrical Engineering, Technology for Transport Process, Nanoengineering.

The Program consists of the following modules:

  1. Russian Language A1.
  2. Russian Language A2.
  3. Russian Language B1.
  4. Russian for Academic Purposes
  5. Mathematics
  6. Physics
  7. Computer Science.

FCS prepares students interested in undergraduate courses such as Mathematics and Computer Sciences, Physics, Cartography and Geo-Informatics, Land Management and Cadastre.

The Program consists of the following modules:

  1. Russian Language A1.
  2. Russian Language A2.
  3. Russian Language B1.
  4. Russian for Academic Purposes
  5. Mathematics
  6. Physics
  7. Chemistry.

FCMB prepares students interested in undergraduate courses such as Chemistry, Pharmacy, Animal Foods, Vegetable Foods, Medical Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biology and other.

The Program consists of the following modules:

  1. Russian Language A1.
  2. Russian Language A2.
  3. Russian Language B1.
  4. Russian for Academic Purposes
  5. Mathematics
  6. Physics
  7. Chemistry.
  8. Biology.

FCH prepares students interested in undergraduate courses such as Linguistics, Advertisement and Public Relations, Political Studies, Philology, Translation Studies, Sociocultural work.

The Program consists of the following modules:

How to apply

Entry requirements

Students may be admitted to the Foundation Course  based on Secondary education, vocationally oriented further or higher education.

Documents:

  1. Application form
  2. Copy of the document confirming your identity and citizenship
  3. Copy of the document detailing your education (diploma, transcript)

Applying Step by Step

  • Make a color scanned copy - a copy of the identity document of a foreign citizen in the Russian Federation (the validity period of the passport on the day of entry into the Russian Federation must be at least 18 months).
  • Make a color scanned copy of the document on education and (or) qualifications with an attachment with an attachment of a duly certified translation into Russian.
  • Fill out the application using the link.
  • Wait for the letter confirming receipt of your documents and further instructions.

  • The University reviews your documents for at least 10 working days. If your application is confirmed, we send you a contract on the provision of paid educational services to the e-mail specified in the application form.
  • Print out the contract and read it carefully.
  • If you agree to the terms of the contract, sign it, scan it in pdf format and send it to the mail ois.selcom@ncfu.ru. Be sure to write in the letter about the need to prepare an invoice for payment.

  • After the university receives the contract, it is signed and sent to you. If necessary, an invoice is prepared for payment.
  • Pay for the training within 10 days from the date of receipt of the signed contract (and invoice).
  • Send a scanned copy of the payment order for the payment of tuition under the contract to the email ois.selcom@ncfu.ru .
  • The University sends you a form of the established sample for issuing an invitation to enter the territory of the Russian Federation. Pay attention! The University begins preparing the documents for issuing the invitation only after confirming the tuition fee. The invitation is issued in electronic form, sent to the email address specified in the form.

After paying for the training, prepare the following documents that you will bring with you:

- Documents detailing your education should be legalized in the Consulate of Russian Federation or have the "Apostille" stamp (more information about legalization you can find here).

- Medical certificate of health status for university applicants, including the results of a fluorographic examination.

- Certificate of absence of HIV infection.

- Certificate of vaccinations.

- 8 photos 3x4 cm in size.

Prepare a translation of all certificates into Russian.

  • When received the invitation letter apply for a visa at the Consulate of Russia;
  • Book tickets to Stavropol-City, Russia;
  • When you got your visa and tickets, write an e-mail to join@ncfu.ru and inform us about your arrival, get further information.

  • On arrival and check-in procedure at the hostel, come to room 214, dormitory 8 at the address: Stavropol, Kulakov Avenue 2/4. This is the office of the Department for Foundation Courses.
  • Be sure to bring your passport, migration card, educational documents, medical certificates and their translations to the office.
  • We assist you to fill in the original of your educational contract in the office.
