Main areas of NCFU international activity:
- Development of export of educational services. The University has accumulated vast experience in training specialists for foreign countries, a multifaceted system of work with international applicants and students has been created. Due to this, the contingent of international students has grown more than 8 times since the creation of the federal university. Currently, more than 1,500 foreign citizens from 59 countries study at the main educational programs and preparatory department;
- development of bilateral cooperation and networking with leading universities of foreign countries. The international cooperation is carried out currently in the framework of bilateral and trilateral agreements with scientific and educational centers of 37 countries (link to a table: Information on agreements concluded and planned for conclusion with foreign and (or) international education and science organizations) and university membership in 7 international professional and academic associations
- realization of academic mobility programmes for students and teachers. More than 500 students and 1100 employees of NCFU have been engaged in academic mobility programmes since 2012. Every year, lectures at all institutes of NCFU are given by teachers from leading universities of the world. Since the creation of the federal university, more than 600 teachers and leading experts from 57 countries have visited NCFU;
- implementation of joint educational programmes with leading foreign universities. NCFU implements 7 joint educational programmes, which includes 5 double degree programmes and 2 joint extended education programmes in cooperation with the universities from Italy, Germany and Portugal.
