NCFU scientists have prepared an almanac on the history and archeology of the North Caucasus

The North Caucasus Federal University has published a scientific almanac "The Museum as the keeper of the historical and cultural heritage of the territory of the North Caucasus region", dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the Stavropol State Museum-Reserve named after G.N. Prozritelev and G.K. Pravo.
The publication was prepared as part of the series "From the cultural history of the peoples of the North Caucasus". The responsible editor of the almanac was Yuri Prokopenko, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Philosophy and Ethnology at the NCFU Institute of Humanities.

The collection brings together the works of archaeologists, cultural scientists, historians and museum workers from Moscow, Stavropol, Rostov-on-Don, Krasnodar, Volgograd, Vladikavkaz, Nalchik, Simferopol, Armavir, Pyatigorsk, Anapa, as well as from Hungary and Abkhazia. The almanac includes five sections: the contribution of the museum-reserve to the study of the culture of the region, archaeology of the Bronze Age and Early Iron Age, medieval archaeology, cultural history of the peoples of the North Caucasus, chronicles and discussions. It is based on the latest archaeological materials and archival data made available by the authors' work.
The presentation of the almanac took place in the archeology hall of the Stavropol State Historical, Cultural and Natural Landscape Museum-Reserve. It was attended by museum Director Nikolai Okhonko, Professor Prokopenko, as well as researchers from Stavropol, Vladikavkaz, Pyatigorsk and Armavir.
