NCFU Student Develops App to Help Patients
Budapest (Hungary) hosted JunctionX Budapest – the international hackathon, where the Russian team (Captained – Kirill Kasmynin, NCFU student) was on top.
JunctionX Budapest is an international hackathon that brings together developers, designers and entrepreneurs from all over the world, while helping them find solutions to real-life problems. This year, the participants were given four tasks from different companies: to solve the issue of unemployment; to develop an app for monitoring cancer patients following treatment; to improve an already available travel application, and to create an updated application for customers of the largest mobile operator, whereas only 48 hours were allowed as per case.
Kirill Kasmynin is currently undergoing training at the University of Debrecen majoring in Computer Science, Research & Engineering, which helped him join the contest in person. However, online was also an option in this case, which let him invite his friends from Russia and tackle the medicine-related assignment.
– Our app was presented as a web-application for monitoring patients’ health status, where the user can sign in as a doctor or a patient. If the latter is the case, then the user will introduce data regarding the health status, current feeling, lab test data, and even can attach an image. All this info is to be checked by the respective doctor, and, in case of any poor readings, an appointment shall be made, – Kirill explained.
The project was well accepted by the Jury, and the team was invited to other hackathons to be held in the nearest months.
