NCFU Joins Online Meeting with Lebanese Students
Russian universities held a meeting with students from Lebanon who are to undergo training and get their respective degrees in Russia within the quota allocated by the Russian Government. The event brought together over 100 persons with students and applicants from other Middle East countries joining, too.
At the video conference, representatives of the five leading Russian academic institutions, including NCFU (Lyudmila Alieva, Head, Office for International Affairs), were telling about the available degree programs.
As Lyudmila Alieva noted, Lebanon and Syria are within the special focus of Russia, and we have plans to promote Russian education there, thus contributing to the progress of that country. – In 2021 we are going to launch a joint program for those seeking to study the Russian language as well as hold a number of events to offer teachers in-service training, - Mrs. Alieva was quoted as saying.
This year the students who were granted admission to the Russian universities are enrolled officially without coming to Russia, while offered all they need to study online. However, as soon as a foreign student arrives, they will have to present a medical check-up letter and a COVID test letter issued no earlier than three days prior to travelling to Russia, after which the students will be placed on a quarantine period, and then take another test. If the results come negative, then they will be allowed to attend face-to-face classes.
