The NCFU hosted the regional part of the national drone operation contest bringing around over members.

Pilots of the Future is a large-scale project within the nation-wide The Movement of the First Ones kids and youth movement, where all the participants can master skills to operate drones.

This time the NCFU – which is one of the organizers – hosted 70 teams from 25 municipalities of the Stavropol Region, whereas each team had a tutor, a technical engineer and two pilots.

The contest involved sped-flight using a technical simulator and a test offered by the engineers, after which the competitors attended master-classes mastering the skills of drone flight control, maintenance and design.

– The project is a unique way to introduce the youngsters of our region to innovation-based technology. Our experts pay due attention to research in the area of robotics and UAV design. I do believe that this contest will add to their skills helping them progress further on their professional path, – Dmitry Bespalov (Rector, NCFU) was quoted as saying.

The winners are to announced on May 19, and the list of the best ones advancing to the final is to be made available on будьвдвижении.рф web-portal. July this the regional leaders will join the national part of the contest, which is to be held in Kazan (Russia), whereas the best pilots will be offered field placement at the largest enterprises.
