This training area relates to information processes, technologies, systems and networks, their instrumental (software, technical, organizational) support, ways and methods of design, production and operation of information technologies and systems. Graduates are engaged in research, development, implementation and maintenance of various information technologies and systems. Depending on the profile of study (specialization), graduates apply their knowledge in the following areas: mechanical engineering, instrument engineering, science, technology, education, medicine, administration, jurisprudence, business, entrepreneurship, commerce, management, banking systems, information systems security, technological processes management, mechanics, technical physics, energy, nuclear energy, power electronics, metallurgy, construction and others.


09.03.03 Applied Information Science

This area of training relates to system analysis, formalization of solutions to tasks and processes of information systems, development of requirements for creation and development of information systems and its components, feasibility study of design solutions, development and implementation of projects for automation and informatization of applied processes and creation of information systems in applied areas.


09.03.04 Software Engineering

This area provides training for programmers who are ready for industrial production of software for information and computing systems of various purposes. Graduates will be able to carry out activities in management of software product development and maintain software at all stages of its life cycle.

Graduates will learn how to use various programming languages ​​and technologies, develop various software products from industrial information systems and Internet services to computer games and mobile applications.


10.03.01 Information security

Profile:

  • Organization and technology of information protection

Students study development trends of information security, models of possible threats, terminology and basic concepts of information security theory, as well as regulatory documents of Russia on this issue and rules for obtaining appropriate licenses.

Activity of graduates involves collection and analysis of materials from organizations and enterprises for taking measures to ensure information security; search for possible channels of leakage of information representing state, military, official or commercial secrets; assessment of relevance, prospects and significance of design objects; participation in development of new control automation tools, control equipment schemes, information security models and systems and much more.


10.05.01 Computer security

Profile:

  • Information-analytical and technical expertise of computer systems

Students study programming languages, basics of computer security, cryptographic methods of protecting information, network administration, technical means and methods of protecting information, algorithms for coding and compressing information, analysis of software vulnerabilities.

Graduates can develop and apply methods, means of protection, control software creation processes, analyze protection of computer systems against viruses. Specialists work in government and local authorities, in industrial enterprises, financial institutions, banks and other institutions.


10.05.03 Information security of automated systems

Profile:

  • Development of automated systems in a protected design

Students study security of operating systems, security of computer networks, security of database systems, cryptographic methods for protecting information, organization of computers and computing systems, networks and systems of information transmission, technical protection of information, programming technologies and methods, electronics and circuitry, programming languages.

Graduates will be able to assess information security risks in an automated system, collect and analyze initial data for design of secure information technologies, and develop secure automated systems. Specialists work in banks and other financial organizations, government bodies, power structures, customs, tax authorities, media, industrial and trade enterprises.


11.03.02 Infocommunication technologies and communication systems

This training area relates to preparation of specialists in telecommunications and communications, who are able to introduce and master innovative equipment for infocommunication systems, modernize individual devices and blocks of infocommunication systems. They are proficient in methods and algorithms for analysis of infocommunication processes and objects, can carry out mathematical modeling of infocommunication processes, objects and networks on the basis of both standard computer-aided design and research packages and independently created original programs.

Graduates will be able to develop and operate communication networks and systems, multichannel telecommunication systems.


11.03.04 Electronics and Nanoelectronics

This is a direction that implies a combination of basic training in disciplines like physics, mathematics, computer science with special training in the field of computer and measurement technologies in tool building and the creation of information and measurement systems. The graduate’s professional activity includes a set of tools, methods and techniques aimed at theoretical and experimental research in the field of nanoelectronics, developing new technologies, computer and mathematical modeling, design, engineering, production technology, operation of materials, components, devices, installations of plasma, microwave, solid-state, optical, micro - and nanoelectronics of various functional purposes.

As part of their training, students study all types of physical phenomena and processes, learn and practise physical research methods, systematise and analyse data using modern technology. They also master and implement new methods for processing structures and materials, practise environmental management techniques, prepare and deliver training sessions in general education institutions, write and publish scientific articles.

This training area involves the study of the Earth's geographical environment - the sphere of interpenetration and interaction between the lithosphere, atmosphere, hydrosphere, biosphere and noosphere, its structure, dynamics, processes of interaction between man and nature. Graduates are in demand by the state committees for land management, nature management, ecology and environmental protection, by major oil companies and industrial enterprises of the country, by the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Russian Federation, by the institutions of geodesy and cartography, by tourism companies, by educational institutions and other organisations.

In the course of their studies, students become adept at computer technology and modern electronic geodesic instruments, theory and methods of cartography, geodesy and geoinformatics, and the peculiarities of operating geoinformation systems. They study cartography as well as topography and the geodetic bases of maps. The geography module includes earth science, soil geography, hydrology and geomorphology. 28.03.02 Nanoengineering

Students acquire a basic theoretical knowledge of physics, electronics and engineering, enabling them to specialise in one of the most promising knowledge-intensive fields - nanotechnology. Graduates design components for electronic devices and robotic complexes, develop new materials, and discover the properties of existing materials. They are also involved as team members in the operation and maintenance of technological systems used in the production of nanomaterials and products based on them.

21.03.01 Oil and gas industry

Duties of the specialists include repairs, reconstruction and rehabilitation of oil and gas wells located on land and sea, operation and maintenance of technological equipment used in the industry, planning and organisation of work of gangs at wells, control of compliance with industrial safety measures and environmental legislation. Students study continental shelf development, oil and gas field development, drilling fluids, well drilling, fundamentals of economical activities of enterprises, workover and underground repair technology, oil and gas field construction, underground hydromechanics, hydraulic machines and hydropneumatic drive, well reconstruction and rehabilitation. Graduates can work as drillers, drilling supervisors, geologists, mining engineers, offshore oil and gas well repair and operation engineers, oil and petroleum product quality controllers, surveyors, oil and gas production operators, refinery technologists.


21.05.02 Applied geology

Students study the basics of oil and gas chemistry, chemical composition of oil and methods of analysis, magnetism of rocks and minerals, sources of heat and heat flow of Earth, types of ground water deposits and methods of their study, issues of underground disposal of effluents. Graduates can work in oil and gas companies, academic and departmental research institutes dealing with hydrogeological, engineering-geological and ecological problems, organisations, enterprises and firms involved in the exploration and exploitation of ground water, its protection from depletion and pollution, as well as in organisations carrying out design and survey work in construction.


21.05.03 Geological exploration technology

Specialists are involved in prospecting for minerals using data from exploration drilling and the development of existing deposits, as well as geological analysis of deposits. Students study geology, hydrogeology, exploration geophysics, mathematical modelling, well drilling, geophysical well surveys, basics of topography, mineral deposits, engineering graphics, basics of production management. Graduates can work as geologists, seismic surveyors, mining engineers, technicians or laboratory assistants in geological exploration, mining companies or field-specific research institutes.

This specialty has many training profiles depending on the type of construction designed, the part of the project, and even the industry. Depending on the profile, students majoring in Biology get to know the biological diversity of the animal and plant world, explore soil and natural reservoirs, the plant, animal and human physiology, and come to know the reign of microorganisms, ecology and the scientific foundations of nature preservation, genetics, cytology, and even molecular biology. Biologists find their jobs in research institutes, environmental agencies, in agriculture and food industry, let alone teaching in academic institutions.


19.03.01 Biotechnology

This is an area of training for specialists who use biological objects or molecules for industrial production of substances and products useful for humans and animals, based on knowledge of microbiology, biochemistry, genetics, genetic engineering, immunology, chemical technology, tool and mechanical engineering. Students study basics of food production technology; biotechnology of proteins, fats, carbohydrates and dietary supplements; colloid chemistry; biocatalysis in food industry; homeostasis and nutrition; chemistry of food dispersion systems; applied mechanics; food additives and technology of biologically active substances as well as a number of other disciplines. Graduates are successfully employed in research institutes, design institutes, engineering departments, food industry and pharmaceutical enterprises, and linked industries.


19.03.03 Food of animal origin

Students receive profound knowledge in chemistry, and also study microbiology, metrology and standardisation, rheology and technical disciplines related to apparatus work at enterprises. In addition, the basics of legislation and standardisation in food industry, as well as economics and production management, are compulsory subjects. In the process of training, future technologists acquire marketing skills sufficient to be prepared to monitor food market, to participate in the creation of competitive products. The technologist controls the quality of raw meat, fish or dairy raw materials in accordance with sanitary, veterinary and other standard requirements, monitors the observance of the optimum dosage of auxiliary substances (toppings, colourings, flavourings, preservative agents, etc.), environmental safety of production, evaluates the overall quality of ready-to-eat products, and participates in the preparation of design and technological documentation. They are in demand in meat and dairy processing plants, fish processing plants.


19.03.04 Food technology and catering organization

Students study catering products technology, food sanitation and hygiene, food physiology, restaurant accounting programmes, restaurant style, financial accounting in restaurants, restaurant service technology, food merchandising, functional food and nutrition, special purpose products.


30.05.01 Medical Biochemistry

This is the training area embracing everything from bacteria and viruses to human beings. A biochemist is involved both in setting diagnoses and in tracking the course of treatment. Students learn to carry out molecular research, study microorganisms, viruses, single cells and multicellular creatures. The scope of their studies extends to clinical immunology, pathochemistry, measurements in biochemistry, medical genetics, malignant tumor biochemistry, clinical and experimental surgery, clinical laboratory diagnostics, medical biochemistry, molecular biology and a number of other specific disciplines. Our graduates get employed by public and private laboratories, pharmaceutical companies, research centers, medical and preventive institutions, pre-conception centers, educational institutions and forensic laboratories.


33.05.01 Pharmacy

Students study organic chemistry, pharmaceutical chemistry and toxicological chemistry, biotechnology, pharmacology, pharmacognosy, merchandising in medicine and pharmacy, and pharmaceutical computer science. This field is one of the most promising and highest-paying. Specialists work at pharmaceutical companies, wholesaling drugs and carrying out market research. Student internship takes place in tax authorities, as well as in economic and accounting departments of enterprises of various fields. After graduation it is possible to take positions of risk managers, tax inspectors, tax consultants, tax department specialists, tax security specialists, economic security specialists, underwriters and auditors.

Training program for customs specialists is a synthesis of legal and foreign economic disciplines. Students study specifics of document management in customs authorities and pricing in foreign trade, declaration of goods and vehicles, settlements and foreign exchange markets, customs management, international trade, commodity science and expertise in customs and economics of customs.

Graduates can work in enterprises related to foreign trade, international transportation and freight forwarding, as well as in state customs authorities. They hold the positions of declarants, customs inspectors, customs managers, foreign trade specialists, customs clearance specialists, customs brokers, and customs carriers.

Students study technology of service activities in various areas of service industry. Mostly graduates hold the position of a customer relations manager. Also service officers are responsible for planning service activities of an enterprise, creation and maintenance of a client base, monitoring activities of an enterprise, organization of special events to attract new clients and consumers, checking quality of services provided by a company.

43.03.02 Tourism

Students acquire knowledge of Russian language and culture of speech, business communication, foreign languages, techniques of hotel operations, hotel activities organisation, public relations in the hospitality industry, corporate culture and human resources management in hospitality companies, hotel animation. Graduates can take up various positions in hotels, health and leisure facilities and tourism companies.
