This area of training relates to system analysis, formalization of solutions to tasks and processes of information systems, development of requirements for creation and development of information systems and its components, feasibility study of design solutions, development and implementation of projects for automation and informatization of applied processes and creation of information systems in applied areas.

Students study development trends of information security, models of possible threats, terminology and basic concepts of information security theory, as well as regulatory documents of Russia on this issue and rules for obtaining appropriate licenses.

Activity of graduates involves collection and analysis of materials from organizations and enterprises for taking measures to ensure information security; search for possible channels of leakage of information representing state, military, official or commercial secrets; assessment of relevance, prospects and significance of design objects; participation in development of new control automation tools, control equipment schemes, information security models and systems and much more.

10.05.01 Computer security

Students study programming languages, basics of computer security, cryptographic methods of protecting information, network administration, technical means and methods of protecting information, algorithms for coding and compressing information, analysis of software vulnerabilities.

Graduates can develop and apply methods, means of protection, control software creation processes, analyze protection of computer systems against viruses. Specialists work in government and local authorities, in industrial enterprises, financial institutions, banks and other institutions.

10.05.03 Information security of automated systems

Students study security of operating systems, security of computer networks, security of database systems, cryptographic methods for protecting information, organization of computers and computing systems, networks and systems of information transmission, technical protection of information, programming technologies and methods, electronics and circuitry, programming languages.

Graduates will be able to assess information security risks in an automated system, collect and analyze initial data for design of secure information technologies, and develop secure automated systems. Specialists work in banks and other financial organizations, government bodies, power structures, customs, tax authorities, media, industrial and trade enterprises.

11.03.02 Infocommunication technologies and communication systems

Students study continental shelf development, oil and gas field development, drilling fluids, well drilling, fundamentals of economical activities of enterprises, workover and underground repair technology, oil and gas field construction, underground hydromechanics, hydraulic machines and hydropneumatic drive, well reconstruction and rehabilitation. In addition, the basics of legislation and standardisation in food industry, as well as economics and production management, are compulsory subjects. 30.05.01 Medical Biochemistry

This is the training area embracing everything from bacteria and viruses to human beings. A biochemist is involved both in setting diagnoses and in tracking the course of treatment. Students learn to carry out molecular research, study microorganisms, viruses, single cells and multicellular creatures. The scope of their studies extends to clinical immunology, pathochemistry, measurements in biochemistry, medical genetics, malignant tumor biochemistry, clinical and experimental surgery, clinical laboratory diagnostics, medical biochemistry, molecular biology and a number of other specific disciplines.
