A team of scientists from the North Caucasus Federal University has won a grant from the Russian Science Foundation (RSF) to create a yield forecasting system. An intelligent system based on neural networks will analyze data from unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), satellites and weather stations, assess the state of vegetation and soil in order to make agricultural forecasts based on them.
According to the Medialogy platform, the most media-active universities in the North Caucasus Federal District in 2025 were the North Caucasus Federal University, Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov and Dagestan State University.

North Caucasus Federal University has presented a new issue of the student magazine "Nota Bene", dedicated to the life of the university and a modern look at the familiar university space.
In 2026, admission to Russian universities will undergo a number of important changes that will affect every applicant. The new rules apply to all educational organizations, regardless of their status and form of ownership. It is important for applicants to understand the key innovations in advance in order to competently build an admission strategy.
Scientists at the North Caucasus Federal University have developed a technology for the production of boiled sausage using products of deep processing of whey – dry milk molasses with lactulose "LactuVet-1" and a microparticulate of whey proteins with encapsulated dihydroquercetin (a plant compound with pronounced antioxidant properties). The new technology opens up opportunities to expand the range of healthy food products with prebiotic effects and a wide range of biological activity.
