Students of the North Caucasus Federal University have won the competition for the scholarship programme of Slovenia and have obtained the opportunity to study at the best universities in the republic. European learning experience will form the basis of the students' final theses.

The programme provides twenty scholarship places for students from Russia. Students of NCFU won five of them. A total of 16 people from the university participated in the competition. Applicants were required to provide a research plan and prove their foreign language skills.

Based on the results of the selection, Aisha Erkenova and Amina Erkenova (master’s students of the “Linguistics” specialty, the Humanitarian Institute) will go to Slovenia, as well as Arina Garnaga and Valeria Miroshnichenko - master’s students from the Institute of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, mastering the “Tourism” specialty. Among the winners is Maxim Sukhodolov, who is receiving a bachelor's degree in "Information Security" at the Institute of Information Technologies and Telecommunications.

– The internship will allow students to reinforce their graduation qualification works with the conclusions of European researchers, – said Vladimir Samoilenko, Head of the International Projects and Programmes Department. Their graduation projects will be written under the guidance of not only NCFU teachers, but also mentors from the partner university. In addition, scholarship holders will be able to discover new countries, and this is an obvious bonus of the academic exchange programme.

The winners will join the ranks of students of the universities of Ljubljana, Primorska and Maribor in February, in the second semester. For four months each of them will live in a hostel free of charge and receive a scholarship of 300 euros per month.
