NCFU joined the project Discover the Leading Russian Universities with the Russian Center for Research and Culture in Beirut. During the online event, NCFU experts introduced the potential applicants from the Middle East to the degree programs and the infrastructure available at the University.
The event was part of an online project delivered in Arabic in order to attract more students from the Middle East through featuring the benefits of the degrees available in Russia. Twice a month the audience can have a virtual tour around the leading universities of Russia, and NCFU was the first one to open its doors to the guests.
The online event, which was streamed in Facebook was launched by Vadim Zaichikov (Head, Russian Center for Research and Culture in Beirut), Nikita Avralev (Pro-Rector for Strategic Development, NCFU) and Lyudmila Alieva (Head, Department for International Cooperation), who shared details concerning the Russian system of education and the place that NCFU has earned in that.
After that the floor was offered to NCFU students who came from Lebanon, Syria and Egypt – they joined the air from seven various spots at NCFU to tell people from their home countries about their studies, after which the audience could have a virtual tour around NCFU, visiting various simulation training centers, the Library, and the sports facilities.
– This is not the first time we have joined a project held by the Russian Cooperation Agency in Lebanon, - Lyudmila Alieva was quoted as saying. – Earlier NCFU presented its degree programs at the traditional annual academic show held in Beirut, which had to be cancelled this year due to the pandemic, and now this online event is some new experience to us. We have already got a lot of positive feedback, so we would be happy to see students coming from Lebanon and other Middle East countries.
As of today, SFU has four students from Lebanon and more than two hundred students from other Arab countries. This number is growing year after year through active promotion of Russian education in Lebanon as well as due to the expansion of the range of international projects that NCFU has launched with the Middle East.
