NCFU hosted an online presentation of academic scholarship programs that Norway, Czechia, Slovakia and Slovenia are currently offering to Russian students and teachers. The purpose of the meeting, which was held online, was to inform the potential; applicants about the papers required to join the programs, the deadlines, as well as the respective procedures. Besides, the participants could also get some details straight from the horse’s mouth, so to say.

– Al the four programs are run within a special agreement with the Russian Ministry of Education and are extremely popular with Russian students, – Vladimir Samoilenko (Head of Dept for International Projects and Programs) was quoted as saying. – NCFU people are getting more and more active year after submitting their applications to travel and study abroad, and even the current pandemic cannot stand in their way. Hope the next year will never prove any worse. As for NCFU, we are ready to offer a helping hand and time, just do not waste your time since there is no much time left before the programs are closed.

The quota for Russian students is not high – Norway, for instance, offers no more than 30 vacancies in academic institutions. And this year three representative of NCFU were lucky to pull it out of the hat – one of them Angelina Likhovid, who shared her impressions to the participants.

– I am currently attending the University of Bergen – one of Norway’s oldest universities, which is rated among the best ones all over the world, – Angelina noted. – Here you would be offered not a degree yet training courses – either closed or open ones, and in case you opt for a closed course you will need some previous knowledge within the respective subject. I am now attending a course in American and British Literature. One of the strong parts about this place is that it is really international, I mean not students alone yet the teaching staff as well – we have a teacher from Germany who delivers American Literature, while the English Linguistics is taught by a world-known professor. And, by the way, you don’t expect to get your books free here – you’ll have to buy them. And another – you can travel and see the beauties of the nature that Norway has to offer. This is a place you should put on top of your to-visit list.

Lyudmila Alieva (Head of Dept for International Cooperation) told the participants about how to write a good CV and other letters.

– Unfortunately, the admission committee will never meet any of our students, even the best ones. All they will be dealing with is your papers, – Prof. Alieva noted. – Therefore, it will take time and some good effort to get everything complete and in place, but it is something truly rewarding – you will get priceless experience and impressions that will remain through life.
