NCFU arranged a special meeting with Rustam Kurganbaev (Consul General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Southern Federal and North-Caucasus Federal Districts) and Khuzhabakhlil Asamov (Consul General of the Consulate of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Southern Federal and North-Caucasus Federal Districts of the Russian Federation).

The visit was held to promote cooperation with the Republic of Uzbekistan in the area of education, with numerous issues discussed including better conditions to be offered to students from Uzbekistan coming to pursue their degrees at NCFU as well as academic mobility.

At the moment, NCFU is offering training to over 400 students from Uzbekistan, and one of the newly introduced options is that these students can pursue double degrees – certificates awarded both by NCFU and a respective partner-university form Uzbekistan.

Upon discussion of the official issues, the guests had a meeting with students from Uzbekistan trained currently at NCFU, both talking about the activities carried out by the Consulate institution and answering questions that the students had to ask, which were numerous – from possible support available to finding employment in Uzbekistan once they are back.

– Meetings like this have already become traditional. NCFU has enjoyed long connection with Uzbekistan and we are extremely interested in expanding this cooperation, so we can expect to get more applicants coming from Uzbekistan, – Stanislav Sidorenko (Head of Department for International Education, NCFU) was quoted as saying.
