NCFU, jointly with German colleagues, has created an international laboratory for human capital development, and the newly established team has already started their first project – regional labor markets.
The laboratory in question has been launched at the Institute of Economics and Management (NCFU), and is under the framework agreement with the University of Applied Sciences (Federal Employment Agency, Germany). The new unit will be responsible, above all, for research projects belonging to the area of Economics and Labor as well a human capital management.
Our German partners identify areas and industries featuring an excess or shortage of labor resources, –Natalia Kunitsyna (Project Manager, Head of the Department of Finance and Credit, NCFU) noted. – We will do the same work. Within this project, we are studying the situation in the labor market in all the 85 areas of Russia. We know, for instance, that the North Caucasus experiences a shortage of labor resources in various industries and an abundance in agriculture. A thorough analysis will help us come to respective conclusions and then offer certain recommendations as to how the situation could be improved.
The research will embrace the labor market changes within the latest three years, focusing especially on the current situation.
Due to the pandemic, the project is going on online, yet as soon as the context allows, the German colleagues are going to pay a visit to meet their Russian counterparts in person, and vice versa.
The project is to be concluded by summer 2021, after which the outcomes will be publicly available, with articles published in top research journals.
