A test was held in Uzbekistan, which was aimed at selecting applicants seeking to get a degree in a Russian university subject to the quota allocated by the Russian Government. The examination committee included NCFU representatives who evaluated the tests in the Russian Language as well as in other subjects.

The test was held by the Russian Cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo) Office in Uzbekistan jointly with the Embassy of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Higher and Special Professional Education of Uzbekistan, with over 2,000 youngsters coming to Mirzo Ulugbek University (Tashkent, Uzbekistan) to try their luck. The test included a mandatory writing task in Russian as well as special subjects (History, Chemistry, Biology, etc.) depending on the degree chosen. The Committee was made up of teachers from 22 Russian universities representing Moscow, Barnaul, Yekaterinburg, Yoshkar-Ola, Kaliningrad, Kursk, Novosibirsk, Novocherkassk, Pskov, Tomsk, Tyumen, Ufa, Khabarovsk and Stavropol, including two NCFU experts – Stanislav Sidorenko (Head of Department for International Education) and Vladimir Samoylenko (Head of Department for International Projects and Programs).

– I was lucky to take exams in the Russian Language, Mathematics and Physics – Vladimir Samoylenko was quoted as saying. - The applicants revealed a high level of knowledge, and I was especially pleased to see the youth of Uzbekistan showing an excellent command of Russian. The tasks would have been difficult even for native speakers, yet more than a few participants scored beyond 90 points, which is proof of the interest these young people take in learning Russian.

Vladimir further noted that NCFU is currently offering training to over 400 students from Uzbekistan, and in 2021 our country has nearly doubled the quota for Uzbekistanis’ free education in Russian universities, and NCFU welcomes them!
