During NCFU’s delegation visit to Abkhazia, Dmitry Bespalov (NCFU, Rector) signed a cooperation agreement with the Abkhazian Institute for Research in the Humanities (named after D.I. Gulia), which will offer a new impetus to the two institutions’ collaboration.

In his speech, Mr. Bespalov noted that NCFU and AbIRH have shared a long history of cooperation, which includes conferences, round-table discussions, forums and dissertation councils.

– This cooperation we have signed will expand the boundaries in our joint Caucasian studies will promote the interest that we share in respective areas, – Dmitry Bespalov was quoted as saying.

Arda Ashuba (Director, AbIRH) stressed the importance of interdisciplinary research in Abkhazian history studies, as well as pointed at potential field training projects that the two institutions could launch.

Besides, the parties signed an agreement on establishing an International research laboratory for biographic studies.
