NCFU students have been introduced to the Stipendium Hungaricum Scolarship program offered by Hungary. Besides, during the specially held event, students were told about what papers they have to submit and where to get advice on any issues they may face.

The program in question is aimed at attracting young talented people from other countries to receive training and earn a degree in Hungary’s top academic institutions.

As Vladimir Samoylenko noted, each year the program attracts 4,500 students from all over the world, while the quota for Russia is 200 grants available for Bachelor’s, Master’s and postgraduate students who have a good command of English (at least В1 level). The scholarship allows spending a semester, an academic year, or even apply for the entire term of training in Hungary on a completely free basis. The participants will receive a monthly fee (130 Euros for Bachelor’s degree students and 450 Euros – for those studying to earn a Master’s degree), as well as free accommodation. Besides, they will enjoy free trips and events to get to know the culture.

Angelina Likhovid (student, NCFU) is one of those who has already got first-hand experience studying in Hungary – she spent a semester at the University of Debrecen majoring in English and American Studies.

– That was a truly life-changing experience, – Angelina was quoted as saying. – I just lunged into the world of literature, culture, history and social studies. Some of the courses were delivered by several teachers, and they were really great helping us master the subjects. There were also many teachers form abroad. The American Culture subject was taught by Prof. Robert Bearce from Boston, and the literature expert Augustin Cadena was in charge of teaching us writing competencies. All the cases were delivered in English only.

Apart from newly acquired competencies and a perfect language skills training, Angelina visited more than a few European places – Vienna, Budapest, Prague and Berlin.

– This is a great chance to get to know new people who share similar interests, and you can meet people from cultures. Studying in Hungary proved an amazing experience motivating towards newer goals, – Angelina concluded.
