Center for Russian Education Launched in Uzbekistan

Center for Russian Education has been opened at the Samarkand State University. The event is to mark 30 years of diplomatic cooperation shared by the two countries, while the NCFU has been invited as the coordinating university for the Center.
Dmitry Bespalov (Rector, NCFU) noted that the center is to join together 23 leading universities of Russia.
– This is the first time we have implemented such a large-scale project. The Samarkand State University is a reliable strategic partner for the NCFU – we have created together 8 double degree programs in the recent years, as well we have been developing successfully academic links, – Dmitry Bespalov was quoted as saying.
Mikhail Vozhdaev (Head of Russian Education Agency in Uzbekistan) stress the importance of the project.
– The international cooperation between Russia and Uzbekistan is progressing, and I am sure that this newly launched Center will become a new place to attract active and creative youth, – Mikhail Vozhdaev said.
Rustam Khalmuradov (Rector, Samarkand State University), in turn, mentioned the major activity areas.
– The agreements we have signed will promote international cooperation. The priority tasks will include developing stable connections between universities of Russia and Uzbekistan, – Rector Khalmuradov said.
Apart from academic projects, the Center is to promote the Russian language in the East along with the Russian education brand.
