This time we are travelling to Hungary, and our guide is Sophia Iskovskaya, a student of the Institute of Engineering.

Sophia is a 4th year student who spent a term in the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (based on the Stipendium Hungaricum Scolarship) studying Civil engineering.

– All the foreign students, just like myself, were placed on quarantine, – Sophia says. – We studied online, and local students, too, had to go online very soon afterwards. However, this never kept us from studying – the teachers delivered extremely interesting lectures, which sometimes went up to three hours. Besides, they delivered various presentations and used a lot of tools to help us master the stuff in the easiest way. We were told about the most advanced professional trends in Europe, while they would always take into account the fact that we all came from different countries, so all the materials were made relevant in view of this fact. Nearly all homework implied a lot of complex calculations, yet everything came along with detailed instructions and examples, which made it all easier.

– What made the biggest impression on me is Budapest, – Sophia said. – A truly attractive city, which offered me, someone training to be a civil engineer, a lot of interesting architecture to see and study. Besides, I visited three nearest places – all cozy and comfortable, each with unique spirits. […] I guess training abroad gives you a lot. It allows having a different view at the world around, it’s like the conventional limits are getting expanded and you come to see more potential and opportunities.
