STAVROPOL CITY

Stavropol is a major administrative and cultural centre in the North Caucasus. Stavropol is a fairly young city with a history of more than 200 years. But this small span of time saw many significant historical events both for the city and for the entire country, so Stavropol has a large number of architectural, historical and cultural monuments. The city's landscaping deserves special attention, and its parks and public gardens are of a very high standard. Stavropol is one of the largest cities in the North Caucasus and the North Caucasus Federal District. According to the results of the All-Russian competition for the title of "The most well-appointed urban (rural) settlement in Russia" held in 2013, 2015 and 2016, Stavropol took first place in the category "Urban settlements (urban districts), which are administrative centres (capitals) of the subjects of the Russian Federation.
