Aghayev Akbar - Dr. Sci. Chemistry. Professor, Head of the Department of Petrochemistry and Chemical Engineering, Sumgait State University (Azerbaijan).

In 1976 graduated from the Azerbaijan Institute of Oil and Chemistry named after M. Azizbekov, Baku, major “Chemical technology of oil and gas processing”.

On February 5, 1993, by the decision of the Supreme Qualifying Committee of the Council of Ministers of the USSR he was awarded the academic degree of Dr. Sci. Chemistry.

On January 21, 1994, by the decision of the Supreme Qualifying Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan he was awarded the academic degree of professor at the Department of Organic Substances Technology.

Has 410 research works. Honoured lecturer of the Republic of Azerbaijan. In 2020 elected as an academician of the International Academy of Sciences “Turkic World” and awarded with the “Gold Star Medal”

• chemical sciences;
• petrochemistry and chemical technology;
• inorganic and physical chemistry;
• technology of chemical production;
• technology of organic substances;
• organic and petrochemical synthesis.
