The North Caucasus Federal University celebrated spring with a festival of national cultures. The Navruz holiday was held in the concert hall of the academic building of the Sever campus, with traditional dishes, costumes and performances by international students.
Nowruz has become one of the most anticipated events of the year for university students and faculty. The guests of the festival could taste the treats on the tables of the student courtyards, where more than two dozen national dishes were presented: kurotob, chagaldak, pinchak, gilmindi, dogram, ishlekli, fitchi, pishme, chig kefte, sutlach, borek and many others. All the treats were prepared by the students themselves – more than 60 international university students participated in the preparation of the celebration.

Representatives of national communities of Stavropol came to support the holiday. Among the guests were Executive Director of the Regional Public Organization "National Organization of Turkmen of Stavropol Territory" Takhir Pirmukhametov, Chairman of the national cultural public organization "Tajik Center Dusti–Druzhba of Stavropol Territory" Kurbonhuja Shakhobov and Vice-president of the Stavropol Regional Public Organization "Azerbaijani National Cultural Center Odlar-Yurdu" Manaf Yaryev.
There was a welcome area on the site with an art object "wall of desires" decorated with Navruz patterns. Each element of the ornament has a symbolic meaning: diamonds represent the earth, flowers and inflorescences – new life and rebirth. Anyone could leave their wish here.

At the end of the event, students from Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Turkey took to the stage in national costumes, which were prepared especially for this day, and showed bright dance and musical numbers.
