The intensive educational course for schoolchildren "Around the World in 14 Days" has been completed at the North Caucasus Federal University. The program was developed by the Faculty of International Relations and the NCFU Humanitarian Institute. For two weeks, the students mastered English and Chinese, learning not only basic vocabulary and speech structures, but also the peculiarities of communication with representatives of different cultures.
The first week was devoted to English. The students learned how to build a dialogue in an intercultural environment, analyzed various communicative situations and improved their oral skills.

In the second half of the program, the participants got acquainted with the Chinese language and culture of China. The students tried to write hieroglyphs, learned to talk about themselves in Chinese, and also learned about the traditions of the tea ceremony and its significance in the life of Chinese society. A separate interactive was dedicated to the philosophy of kung fu, the history of this martial art and its famous masters.
– Intensive education has traditionally aroused the interest of schoolchildren. In a short time, the students get to know the language in the context of culture, learn the peculiarities of communication and behavior of people from other countries. Learning English and Chinese broadens their horizons and contributes to a better understanding of the world," said Liana Vartanova, Acting Director of the Department of Linguistics at the NCFU Faculty of International Relations.
In addition to language training, classes in Russian language and literature were organized for the participants, and as part of Pushkin Day, participants read poetry and discussed the role of the word in the dialogue of cultures.

At the end of the intensive, a talent contest "Minute of Glory" was held. The students presented creative performances and graduation projects, after which they received certificates of participation in the program.
