Large-scale civil defense exercises were held at the North Caucasus Federal University (NCFU), which took place at the Center and North campuses from October 7-9, 2026.

The staff training "Organization and conduct of civil defense in the Russian Federation in modern conditions" was conducted in accordance with the action plan for civil defense, emergency prevention and response, fire safety and human safety at water facilities for 2026. The exercises were organized by decree of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science and were held jointly with government agencies and civil defense forces.

— The main purpose of such trainings is that we need to teach people how to act correctly at warning signals. This time, we have worked out the shelter in protective structures, the issuance of PPE and the operation of the evacuation center. The exercises showed that the university is ready to solve the tasks of civil defense, and we use the experience gained to further improve the security system," said Alexey Skomoroshchenko, Director of the NCFU Department of Integrated Security.

A total of 400 people took part in the exercises, including university staff and students. An individual protective equipment delivery point and a combined evacuation point No. 45 were set up in educational building No. 9, and a shelter in the basement of the building was worked out in educational building No. 2 when the "Missile Danger" warning team arrived.

Anatoly Lisitsyn, a representative of the Committee for Civil Defense and Emergency Situations of the Stavropol City Administration, Alexey Sukharev, a representative of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Stavropol Territory, as well as employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Stavropol and the Rosgvardiya for the Stavropol Territory for the protection of public order, also took part in the training.

Following the training, NCFU was presented as an exemplary facility for holding such events at a meeting in the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Stavropol Territory, which was organized jointly with the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
