The rector met with the Metropolitan of Stavropol and Nevinnomyssky at the North Caucasus Federal University, where they discussed issues of cooperation. An icon of Dimitri of Rostov, located in the building where the Stavropol Theological Seminary was before the revolution, was also consecrated in the meeting room of the NCFU Academic Council.
During the meeting, Metropolitan Kirill of Stavropol and Nevinnomyssk and NCFU Rector Professor Tatiana Shebzukhova discussed various issues related to joint events and further cooperation. The Metropolitan conducted the consecration ceremony of the icon of St. Demetrius of Rostov, which became a symbolic event for the university. Before the revolution, the seminary church was located in the meeting room of the NCFU Academic Council, where important decisions are currently being made in the development of the university. The altar of the church was consecrated in the name of St. Demetrius of Rostov.

– The preservation of historical memory is a priority for us, because the meeting room of the Academic Council is a place where important strategic decisions are made and the future of the entire North Caucasus Federal University is being shaped. And the consecration of the icon of St. Demetrius of Rostov reminds us of the deep spiritual roots of this place, because we need not only to honor traditions, but also to continue the important work that began here centuries ago – enlightenment," said NCFU Rector Professor Tatiana Shebzukhova.
Metropolitan Kirill of Stavropol and Nevinnomyssk emphasized that currently the task of teachers is to convey to students the need to think about the future.

– It is especially exciting for me that for the first time since the closure of the Stavropol Theological Seminary building, I have donned sacred robes here. This hall now houses an icon of St. Demetrius of Rostov, the heavenly patron saint of the seminary, in whose honor there was once a house church. May the icon of the saint sanctify the university and the meetings of the Academic Council," said Metropolitan Kirill of Stavropol and Nevinnomyssk.
The consecration of the icon in the Academic Council Hall was another step in preserving the historical and cultural heritage of Stavropol, strengthening the link between education, science and the spiritual traditions of the region. Metropolitan Kirill also congratulated Tatiana Shebzukhova on her appointment as rector and wished God's help in her future efforts in her responsible position.
