A round table was held at the North Caucasus Federal University on the substantive and methodological relationship between the academic disciplines "History" and "Fundamentals of Russian Statehood".
The meeting was held within the framework of the federal project "We are together (Fostering a harmoniously developed personality)" of the national project "Youth and Children" within the framework of the project "DNA of Russia".
The participants discussed approaches to synchronizing the two disciplines in the educational process, exchanged pedagogical practices and methodological techniques aimed at protecting historical truth, preserving historical memory and countering the falsification of history. The moderator was the Head of the NCFU Department of Philosophy and Ethnology, Professor Svetlana Ivanova.

Lyudmila Ermolenko, Associate Professor of the Department of Russian History at NCFU, explained the fundamental unity of the two courses.:
– In terms of content, the disciplines enrich each other, in terms of methodology, they are based on the same principles of scholarship, objectivity and historicism, in an organizational and methodological way, the question arises about their inclusion and consistency relative to each other in the educational process, – said the speaker.
Tomara Malsagova, Dean of the Faculty of History at Ingush State University, also identified a key area of concern for the discussion.:
– Today, historical knowledge works to develop critical thinking through the establishment of cause-and-effect relationships of historical events, through work with primary sources and the ability to verify facts, – said the historian.
The central topic of the meeting was the issue of synchronizing the disciplines of the social and humanitarian block at the university.: how to arrange their sequence and interaction so that they mutually reinforce each other, rather than duplicate the content.
