Universities of the “Prioritet 2030” program should defend regional development projects
Russian universities that have applied for participation in the “Prioritet 2030” state university support program will be able to become its participants only if there are successful innovative projects for the development of regional economies. Among the applicants for participation is North Caucasus Federal University.
“In order to form a wide group of universities that will become leaders in creation of new scientific knowledge, technologies and developments for implementation in Russian economy and social sphere. This is precisely the goal of the longest-term program for development and support of universities in the history of modern Russia. Universities cannot realize successful defense of development programs without interaction with regional economies”, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation reports.
The ministry noted that North Caucasus Federal University expects that participation in the program will give the university new opportunities for scientific development of innovative products and technologies in promising economic specializations of the region. This implies development and implementation of import-substituting technologies for production of components for food and creation of technologies for production of specialized food products, development of agro-industrial complex and health tourism.
“Today new industries are being created in the Stavropol Territory, green energy is developing, digital technologies are being actively introduced. The regional agro-industrial complex is becoming more and more knowledge-intensive and high-tech. I am sure that there will be even more points of application of development strategies. And in this sense, qualitative growth that participation in the “Prioritet 2030” state program opens up for universities is a response to the natural requirement of the time”, Vladimir Vladimirov, the Governor of the Stavropol Territory, said.
