The North Caucasus Federal University hosted the annual "Best among the First" competition among first-year students, one of the key events in the extracurricular life of first–year students.

Since the autumn of the current academic year, qualifying stages have been held in all institutes, faculties and higher schools, as a result of which 1 representative from each structural unit was sent to the university–wide final - a total of 15 charismatic students who entered the university in 2025.

Applicants were actively trained before the final stage. They worked with choreographers and the director, rehearsed individual creative performances, participated in photo shoots and master classes on stage.

The project also took into account the academic performance of the contestants during the first semester of study, so the initial score of all the contestants was different and depended on the average score for grades at the end of the winter session.

The participants were actively supported by undergraduates: they helped to implement creative ideas and shared valuable advice.

According to the results of the jury's voting, the following winners were selected among the participants::

● 1st place – Mikhail Bondarenko, Institute of Advanced Engineering;

● 2nd place – Evelina Khakasheva, Faculty of Medicine and Biology;

● 3rd place – Milena Kamzina, Faculty of International Relations;

●      Audience Award – Diana Demeneva, Law Institute.

It is worth noting that the competition, first of all, helps first-year students immerse themselves in the vibrant student life outside of their studies, get acquainted with the traditions of the university, awaken their creative abilities and help show their hidden talents.
