On August 22, 2026, a friendly game among international students of the North Caucasus Federal University was held at the Burevestnik Stadium. Teams from Africa and Turkmenistan took part in the football match.

A friendly football match between the national teams of Africa and Turkmenistan, consisting of NCFU international students, was timed to coincide with the Day of the Russian Flag. The organizers were the NCFU Center for Support of Foreign Students with the support of Oksana Kuznetsova, Vice-Rector for Youth Policy, and the Department of Physical Culture and Sports Work.

– We are very pleased that NCFU foreign students have the opportunity to prove themselves on the football field, train freely and play at our Burevestnik stadium. In addition, football is a team sport that helps children adapt and make new friends," said Alexander Povolotsky, head of the NCFU Support Center for Foreign Students.

The university creates all conditions for active sports activities, so they plan to make the games and training of NCFU international students at the modern Burevestnik stadium traditional.

– In the future, we want to create a national football team of the Union of Foreign Students, which will represent the university at city, regional and district competitions, and the modern multifunctional stadium "Burevestnik" will become the training and playing base of the team, – said Hekim Annadurdyev, Chairman of the Union of Foreign Students, 4th year student of NCFU.

The match ended with a score of 4:4, as a result of which it was decided to organize a penalty shootout. The team of Turkmenistan became the winner.

The Burevestnik Stadium was opened in the summer of 2026, and the arena is ready to host competitions and mass sporting events of various formats, from university sports contests to city races and family health festivals.
