The application of digital technologies in education was discussed at North-Caucasus Federal University

For the fourth time the North-Caucasus Federal University hosted the International Scientific and Practical Conference 'Innovative Approaches to the Application of Digital Technologies in Education and Research' SLET-2022.

The university brought together representatives from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Orenburg, Kazan, Yakutsk, Krasnodar, Stavropol and other cities.

"Researchers presented their research papers on discussion platforms at NCFU. And foreign partners from India and Belarus shared their experience in applying information technologies in education," said Vyacheslav Petrenko, Acting Director of the Institute of Digital Development at NCFU.

The main areas of the conference are devoted to the formation of new teacher competencies in the conditions of digital transformation, organisation of digital education in modern media space, as well as the use of robotic systems in education, digital pedagogy, the possibilities of virtual learning environments, and augmented reality educational technologies.

Sergey Grigoriev, corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Education, professor of the Moscow City Pedagogical University, co-chair of the programme committee, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech. He noted that the event discussed the methods, issues and prospects of training in the field of artificial intelligence and end-to-end technologies, systems of training in the field of artificial intelligence in universities.

Maria Lapina, Acting Deputy Director for International Activities of the Institute for Digital Development of NCFU, Co-Chair of the Programme Committee, also addressed the meeting. She noted that this year the organizer was not only the Institute for Digital Development, but also the Faculty of Psychology and Pedagogy.

"We hope that in the future other Russian universities and foreign partners will join the event. We continue to improve and develop the work of the scientific and practical conference, and next year new speakers and organisers are waiting for the participants of the annual meeting," Maria Lapina added.

The foreign partner of the conference from India, Professor of Christian University, co-chair of the programme committee G.C. Prakasha noted the importance of cooperation with NCFU and wished the participants fruitful work.

Thus, the event presented research on the formation of a regional market of IT specialists, development and testing of technology for analysing current vacancies for the formation and updating of retraining programmes for digital departments.

In addition, a presentation of the Virtual Worlds Centre activities was prepared for the participants of the event.

The fifth anniversary conference is included in the plan of scientific events of the Russian Academy of Education for the next year and will bring together leading foreign and Russian universities.
