The 1st year undergraduate students of the NCFU Faculty of Physics and Technology in the field of Physics completed a summer field internship, where they got acquainted with their future profession for two weeks.

The field practice took place in the village of Nizhny Arkhyz in the Karachay-Cherkess Republic. For two weeks, a group of 25 people actively worked at the Special Astrophysical Observatory of the Russian Academy of Sciences (SAO RAS).

– Practice at the Special Astrophysical Observatory of the Russian Academy of Sciences is a unique chance for physics students to get in touch with real world–class science. Direct communication and cooperation with the country's leading scientists and astrophysicists creates invaluable experience and leads to an understanding of how the laws of fundamental physics work on the scale of the universe," said Arthur Zakinyan, Doctor of Physico–Mathematical Sciences, Head of the Department of Theoretical and Mathematical Physics at the Faculty of Physics and Technology.

The students listened to a series of lectures from leading scientists on modern problems of astrophysics and the basics of astronomical observations. Excursions to the Large Azimuthal Telescope, as well as to the Astronomical Radio Telescope, helped to get to know the future profession better.

At the end of the internship, the students not only successfully presented their work reports, but also demonstrated their knowledge at a scientific seminar by making presentations and presentations.
