A master class on the institute of mediation for students of the Human Rights Activity profile was held at the North Caucasus Federal University. The lesson was held in preparation for an interactive case study and a series of discussion sessions of the NCFU Law Institute "Mediation as a tool for resolving a private law dispute: experience and prospects", scheduled for May.

The master class was conducted by Narine Hayrapetyan, lawyer, Deputy Chairman of the Arm Yust Bar Association (Stavropol Territory Bar Association), Chairman of the Stavropol Regional branch of the Federal Union of Lawyers of Russia.

During the lesson, the participants analyzed the key aspects of mediation: the concept and objectives of the institute, its basic principles, features of the procedure, requirements for mediators and restrictions in their activities, as well as issues of mediation agreement. The scope of mediation, its relevance in Russia and the comparative experience of other countries were discussed separately.

The strategic organization of the mediation procedure involves the development and implementation of a complex communication scenario by the mediator. It should be noted that such work requires from the mediator not only legal knowledge, but also deep training in psychology, conflictology and communication, as well as the ability to build role relationships using special tactics.
