Researchers of the Faculty of Food Engineering and Biotechnology (NCFU) have started developing a unique healthy beverage that has no match and is based on herbs of the North Caucasus and apples of the Stavropol Region.

– The recipe relies on the local herbs and apples that are famous far beyond our region. This drink is to contain both conventional ingredients and unique ones, such as Persian cumin, which is to be found in the Middle East. All components will be combined effectively with an antioxidant triple complex of vitamin C, essential elements and amino acids that has been developed by our researchers, – Dmitry Bespalov (Rector, NCFU) was quoted as saying.

The new product will be first tried by youngsters aged 18 – 25, which will allow checking the compatibility with the young and strong body needs. As proposed by youngsters, the drink may be called Southern Elephant.

There are plans to launch sales of the Southern Elephant this year already, talks being held currently with one of the largest enterprises manufacturing beverages.
