The head of the Department of Life Safety and Fundamentals of Military Training at the North Caucasus Federal University received the medal "For Strengthening Friendship between Pridnestrovie and Russia."

Elena Makarova, Head of the Department of Life Safety and Fundamentals of Military Training at the NCFU Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports, was awarded the medal of the Official Representative Office of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic in the Russian Federation for her organizational and methodological contribution to the preservation of a single space of historical memory of the CIS peoples. This is because the inhabitants of the post-Soviet space are connected by many things: economic interests, a rich cultural heritage and, above all, a common history, the brightest page of which is the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.

And under the leadership of Elena Makarova, systematic work is carried out at the university: the department regularly engages NCFU students and teachers to actively work in the International socio-educational project "The Great Victory Unites Nations."

Students and teachers also hold regular meetings with participants and researchers of the events of our common history in the format of teleconferences. First of all, these are the Days of Russia's Military Glory, the feat of besieging Leningrad, the participation of Soviet troops in the Republic of Afghanistan, the elimination of the consequences of the Chernobyl accident, and the Crimean Spring. Special attention at online meetings is paid to the facts and assessments of the Great Patriotic War, whose historical truth is in particular need of preservation today.

Elena Makarova also helps to realize the main goal of the project at the university – education and upbringing of the younger generation in the spirit of patriotism and respect for the history of their country and other peoples.
