The North Caucasus Federal University co-organized a regional conference on topical issues of search work and perpetuation of the memory of those who died defending the Fatherland in the Stavropol Territory. The event was held at the site of the museum and exhibition complex "Russia - My History" and was timed to coincide with the Day of Remembrance and Mourning.

The conference "The search continues. Topical issues of the organization and practice of search work to perpetuate the memory of those who died defending the Fatherland in the Stavropol Territory" brought together scientists, representatives of search associations, educational organizations and students. The participants discussed modern approaches to the preservation of historical memory, the results of archival research and the practice of search activity.

The conference was attended by employees of the North Caucasus Federal University. Marina Kolesnikova, Director of the NCFU Humanitarian Institute, presented the results of the Institute's work in the field of historical memory preservation and archival research. Elena Strekalova, Associate Professor of the Department of Russian History at the NCFU Humanitarian Institute, head of the Research Center "Laboratory for Studying the Events of World War II and Countering the Falsification of History", spoke about the role of search activities in studying the crimes of the Nazis and their accomplices in Stavropol.

Igor Zozulya, Associate Professor of the Department of Russian History at the NCFU Humanitarian Institute, Deputy Director of the NCFU Department of Science, dedicated his speech to the activities of law enforcement agencies in the North Caucasus during the initial period of the Great Patriotic War. Alexey Udovychenko, a student of the NCFU Humanitarian Institute, presented the results of the search for sources of information related to the genocide of the Soviet people.

The conference has become a platform for professional dialogue between researchers, search engines and representatives of the educational community. The participants noted the importance of systematic cooperation between science, education and public associations in preserving the historical truth about the Great Patriotic War and perpetuating the memory of the defenders of the Fatherland.
