Smart Foods from Apples
NCFU experts have developed various meals including apples, and then all those attending the official Day of Food Industry could try the delicious things.
The meals that proved a true surprise for everyone were meatballs (or apple balls, to be exact since they are 22% apples) and apple pate.

– NCFU does not just offer training thus raising top quality skilled staff to be further employed in food industry, yet also develops numerous innovation-based products that are launched into production through the entire region and even beyond, – Dmitry Bespalov (Rector, NCFU) was quoted as saying.

The innovative food technologies that are being developed currently at NCFU are subject to strict control and are healthy indeed. As Natalia Oboturova (Dean, Faculty of Food Engineering and Biotechnologies, NCFU) noted, dried and frozen apples contain no less than 90% of the initial healthy properties, which makes it both usable and good for transporting – all it takes to recover the entire set of vitamins is put such apples in water.
Earlier NCFU food experts developed a smart burger, which was designed employing digital technologies to make it both substantial and healthy.
