Category: Main

North Caucasus Federal University has received a grant from the Russian World Foundation to host an international summer school for students and teachers from Georgia. The project "Russia and Georgia: the Poetics of Open Dialogue" is aimed at promoting the Russian language and culture, as well as creating a platform for intercultural dialogue between the two countries.

The school's educational program covers two areas: classes for Georgian students of all levels of education – from bachelor's to doctoral studies – and a refresher course for teachers of philology. Classes will be held in a mixed format: the remote stage will take place at the end of summer, the full–time stage will take place in September at the NCFU and will last about a week. Participants will enjoy interactive lectures, practical exercises, master classes, quests, quizzes, discussion clubs, art platforms and educational excursions.

The authors of the project were the staff of the Department of Linguistics of the NCFU Faculty of International Relations.

– The summer School will become an interdisciplinary laboratory for innovative education. Our goals are not only to improve language skills, but also to broaden the horizons of participants, strengthen friendly ties between young people and teachers of the two countries, and increase the recognition of Russian education on the international market," said Olga Gorobets, Associate Professor of Linguistics at the NCFU Faculty of International Relations, PhD in Philology.

The project aims to develop academic mobility of Georgian students, deepen knowledge about the Russian language and culture, get acquainted with the spiritual and socio-cultural potential of Russia and the North Caucasus region, as well as exchange scientific and practical experience between teachers of the two countries.
