The team of the North Caucasus Federal University presented a revolutionary project in the field of machine learning.
Students of the North Caucasus Federal University took part in the work of Russia's largest academic platform in the field of artificial intelligence – the Summer School of the Russian Association of Artificial Intelligence (RAII). The event was held in the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania and brought together representatives of 21 universities from 17 regions of Russia.
The team of the specialty "Information Security of Automated Systems" (IBAS) of the NCFU Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science adequately represented the university. It consists of students: Alina Bagautdinova, Maxim Medvedev, Dmitry Savchenko, Alexander Zubkov and Karim Gediev.

The main achievement of the team was the development of the innovative "Multimodal Visual Search Platform" system. The project allows you to search for information using both a photo and a text query, and if there is no result, generate it using artificial intelligence technologies.
Following the results of the project defense, the jury awarded the NCFU team an honorable third place.
– The developed platform demonstrates the high potential of using artificial intelligence in solving practical problems. It is especially valuable that the students not only mastered modern technologies, but also were able to create a competitive product. I am sure that this is just the beginning of their journey in the world of innovative developments," said Maria Lapina, Associate Professor of Computational Mathematics and Cybernetics at the NCFU Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science named after Professor N.I. Chervyakov.
