An interregional round table was held at the North Caucasus Federal University on the specifics of teaching the discipline "Fundamentals of Russian Statehood" and its connection with sociology and political science.

Representatives of the scientific, pedagogical and expert community of universities of the North Caucasus and North-Western Federal Districts joined the discussion. The discussion focuses on the socio–political aspects of the course in the context of the current challenges of Russia's domestic and foreign policy, as well as the intersection of the discipline with sociology and political science.

Maya Astvatsaturova, Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor, Head of the Scientific and Innovative Educational Center for Political and Ethno-Confessional Studies at Pyatigorsk State University, drew attention to the need to include political science knowledge in the course "Fundamentals of Russian Statehood". A special place in her report was occupied by the issues of the political science glossary and the correlation of political categories with the categories of worldview, culture and morality.

Marina Shulga, Professor of the Department of Sociology and Social Innovation at the NCFU Graduate School of Creative Industries, reviewed the general aspects and points of intersection of the disciplines "Sociology" and "Fundamentals of Russian Statehood".

Leyla Tekeeva, Acting Head of the Department of State and Municipal Administration at U.D. Aliyev Karachay-Cherkess State University, outlined key approaches to integrating knowledge about current socio-political events into the educational process.

Following the meeting, the participants adopted recommendations aimed at a more detailed consideration of socio-political issues in the course "Fundamentals of Russian Statehood", taking into account the content of related disciplines.

The round table was held within the framework of the federal project "We are together (Fostering a harmoniously developed personality)", the national project "Youth and Children" and the project "DNA of Russia".
