Foreign students of the North Caucasus Federal University took part in the sports festival of Russian folk games "The Path of Unity", which is dedicated to the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia. The event was held in the Moscow region.

The organizer of the Path of Health festival is the Association of Foreign Students of Russia, which is based at the Patrice Lumumba Peoples' Friendship University of Russia in Moscow. One of the founders is the North Caucasus Federal University, whose international students actively participate in events organized by AIS. These are all kinds of congresses, forums, contests, and, of course, festivals.

And this year, 10 students from Stavropol University took part in the sports festival, which was held on the basis of the Lesnoe Ozero educational and recreation complex of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation. These are 8 students from Turkmenistan, as well as 1 from Uzbekistan and 1 from Peru. The team took the second place among 12 universities, and the leader of the delegation was Sanjar Nuryev, a student at the NCFU Institute of Economics and Management.

The participants were offered master classes and team competitions in folk sports, an obstacle course, laser tag and a dance fitness marathon. The students got acquainted with traditional activities such as urban sports, tug of war, volleyball, shooting, bouncers and lapta – this is a traditional Russian team game with bat and ball, combining elements of speed, agility, tactics and teamwork.

– I really enjoyed playing with a rope, and for the first time at the festival I tried climbing stairs – it was exciting. As for the "Path of Unity", it was not easy, but it was surmountable. The most difficult stage was running 2.5 kilometers, but thanks to the support of our team, we managed and did not give up," Ainabat Pygamova, a student from Turkmenistan, shared her impressions.

Russian Russian Folk Games festival "The Path of Unity" is aimed at developing interethnic cooperation, popularizing traditional Russian folk games, strengthening team spirit and involving foreign students in cultural and sports activities.
