01.12.22 10:37

Category: Main

NCFU has launched the First Russian-Syrian Youth Forum, which has brought together around 100 leaders representing various student and public unions of the two countries.

The main focus of the event are volunteering, young researchers and entrepreneurs, tourism and youth destination promotion. Besides, the forum is a great basis for mutual understanding and cooperation, which is envisaged by a cooperation agreement signed by the two countries’ governments.

– This forum is to serve the basis for comprehensive youth cooperation between the two countries. I would like to note that the new meetings and experience will help youngsters here enhance their ties, whereas the partnership at the university level will propel progress in technologies and economic growth, – Dmitry Bespalov (Rector, NCFU) was quoted as saying.

During Day 1, opening speeches were delivered by Prof. Abdul Basit Al Khatib (President, Al-Baath University, Syria), Dr. Hala Deeb (President, Al Hawash Private University), and Prof. Ghaith Warkozek (Director for Research and Postgraduate Training, Damascus University), following which their Russian counterparts took the floor.

The event, which is to go for the nearest three days, will include round-table discussions, seminars, and lectures by the leading experts, with special time allowed for the guests to visit the Caucasian Mineral waters Region and enjoy its hospitality.

The expected result of the Forum in question is projects and initiatives to make up the working pan for the year 2023, aimed at promoting cooperation between Russia and Syria.

The two parties have a lot to share – from Economics and Cybersecurity to Russian Language Studies, where NCFU is a true expert – the first Russian Literature Café has been already opened in Syria, and it welcomes everyone interested in getting to know both the language and culture of Russia.

The nearest event is the Russian Week of Maths, Physics and Computer Science, which is to be held in December this year in Syria, and is expected to bring around over 150 Syrian senior schoolers studying Russian.
