North-Caucasus Federal University (NCFU) has entered a partnership with Zelinsky Institute of Organic Chemistry (ZIOC) (Russian Academy of Sciences) to carry out joint research and innovation activities.
On December 26, 2002, Dmitry Bespalov (Rector, NCFU) and Mikhail Egorov (Director, ZIOC) signed a cooperation agreement, which implies partnership in the areas of staff development, research, and methodological activities.– Our partnership with Zelinsky Institute of Organic Chemistry will allow projects aimed at promoting the entire macro-region’s industry, and implies interdisciplinary projects that join together, for instance, computer science and mathematical modeling for chemical processes, – Prof. Bespalov noted.

Mikhail Egorov, in turn, pointed at a high level of training offered at NCF, specifically to those majoring in Chemistry, and mentioned that the University has truly good labs equipped with state-of-the-art machines.
Now, NCFU has plans to launch new areas for training, field placement and postgraduate courses. Besides, plans include close cooperation in the area of low-tonnage chemistry, which may be a good response against the Western sanctions imposed on Russia, as well as in areas like chemical catalyst and medical chemistry.
The nearest steps are focused on discussing and approval of respective roadmaps, plans, and protocols.
