Today, under the heading "Rector speaks," the head of NCFU noted the main trends in NCFU's international activities in the field of science and education.

We present an interview with the acting Rector of NCFU, Professor Tatiana Alexandrovna Shebzukhova:

"The international cooperation of the North Caucasus Federal University is becoming a driver of the development of education, science and youth policy, which was clearly confirmed by the results of last year.

The effectiveness of the chosen strategy is reflected by specific indicators: the university cooperates with 127 partners in 45 countries, more than 300 students and staff have completed internships abroad, and 1,500 foreign students from 60 countries create a unique multicultural environment within the university. Many of them, having become acquainted with Russia, become guides of our culture in their homeland.

NCFU is actively scaling the unique experience of building an international student ecosystem. Last year, the university became the only venue in Russia where the district stage of the international competition for international students StudRussia was held for two federal districts at once.

NCFU systematically strengthens the position of Russian education abroad. The university's business card is the School of the Young Leader, the Caucasus–Caspian–Middle East Forum, and Student Tourism Schools in the CIS countries. Last year, the North Caucasus Federal University conducted 15 major international projects that brought together more than a thousand students.

Special attention is paid to the promotion of the Russian language and professional exchange. As one of the leaders in this field, the flagship university of the North Caucasus organizes Russian language training for colleagues from Transcaucasia, Central Asia, the Middle East and Africa. In parallel, unique training programs on modern diagnostic and treatment techniques for African doctors are being implemented.

The University also contributes to the systematic work carried out by the Government of the Russian Federation to optimize migration policy. NCFU Linguistic Expertise Center is the only one in the North Caucasus region authorized to test foreign citizens. Starting this year, exams will be converted to a computer format.

The geography of the strategic partnership continues to expand. New agreements with leading universities in China and Algeria have become a clear confirmation of this policy.

A large-scale educational and scientific exchange has been launched with Heilongjiang University of Science and Technology. Key areas of cooperation are artificial intelligence, big data processing, engineering, as well as natural sciences and humanities. In the future, the creation of a joint institute with a double degree program is planned.

Partnership in the field of natural sciences and socio-political sciences is developing with Shandong University. The work plan includes academic exchanges and joint research.

An agreement has been reached with Algerian colleagues on cooperation in the fuel and energy sector. Scientists will join forces to develop digital solutions for drilling optimization.

For NCFU, international activities are the foundation of global cooperation, strengthening the authority of Russian education and science, as well as consolidating the international student community."
