Regional Abilympics Winners Announced
NCFU hosted the regional stage of the Abilypmics contest for people with disabilities, where 22 students from various universities of the South and North-Caucasus Federal Districts came to lock horns within 6 competencies.
This was the third time that NCFU hosted the regional stage of the contest but it was the first time the event brought together several universities. The contest itself was designed for those majoring to become social workers, entrepreneurs, as well as network and system administrators. The arena was shared by 18 participants from 5 universities – NCFU, Stavropol State Medical University, Stavropol State Agrarian University, Maikop State Technological University, and the Chekhov Taganrog Institute (branch of the Rostov State Institute of Economics). Future psychologists, primary school teachers, and special physical education coaches competed in Rostov-on-Don.
As soon as the opening speeches were delivered, the contest went on, and all the tasks matched those of the national stage. The Jury were the top experts of South Russia in the respective areas, while about 50 specially trained volunteers attended the entire facility to support the participants.
The winners of the championship were announced at the closing ceremony:
Entrepreneurship category – Aida Strikacheva (student, Maikop State Technological University);
Social Worker category – Sergey Voronin (students, Chekhov Taganrog Institute), while the top place in the category of Network and System Administration was awarded to Maxim Danchenko (student, NCFU).
Now, the winners advanced to the fourth Abilympics National Championship, which is to be held on December 17, 2020 in Moscow.
