Foreign applicants of the North Caucasus Federal University, students of the preparatory department from Peru, get acquainted with the Stavropol Territory by visiting the local museum.

Stavropol State Historical, Cultural and Natural Landscape Museum-Reserve named after G.N. Prozritelev and G.K. Prave continues to educate foreign students and applicants about the cultural and natural heritage of Stavropol. Such events are traditionally held during the summer holidays to help foreign students adapt.

– Visiting the Museum of local lore was a real discovery for our international students. They looked at the exhibits with genuine interest, drew parallels with the history of their countries, enthusiastically debated and asked questions. It is at such moments that a deep understanding of Russia is born, and we will definitely continue to introduce the children to the rich heritage of our region and the country as a whole," said Ekaterina Ukhanova, head of the NCFU Preparatory Department.

Students of the preparatory department from Peru took a sightseeing tour of the main exhibits, which are displayed in four halls of the building. So, in the "Hall of Nature", students met with the largest exhibits – skeletons of southern elephants Arkhip and Nyusa, and also learned about the southern elephant's journey from Africa to North America through the Bering Strait. Then there was the "Ethnography Hall", where the applicants got acquainted with the "Green Container" – a Buddhist hand-embroidered icon that a museum employee bought during the Great Patriotic War for bread cards, having been left without food.

Foreign students also saw the furnishings of the merchant's living room in the 1918 house of Timofey Ivanov, a merchant of the First Guild, and the last one was the "Archeology Hall", which introduced visitors to the peoples and everyday life of people living in the territory of modern Stavropol.
