Practical Skills – A Major Factor in Employment
Dmitry Bespalov (Rector, NCFU) joined the discussion How to Start a Career at Early Stages of Training? which was held within the Education Week project at the Moscow International Education Salon. The discussion was arranged online with over 450 connecting.
The entire event focused on using various tools to facilitate the process of employment for university graduates, with experts from various areas expressing their opinion. Dmitry Bespalov, when given the floor, noted that one of the factors that helps in getting a job is true practical skills, which implies that university education is to be aimed at respective skills development.
– University is ready to become the first place of employment for students. Currently, the divisions of NCFU offer employment to more than 360 students. Moreover, even freshmen can get a job here joining a pedagogic or a construction team, - Mr. Bespalov noted. – Building an efficient model to promote employment is impossible without taking into account the local market features. We are now planning to expand the involvement of employers in our major career-oriented projects, one of them being K-Labs designed to help our graduates.
