North Caucasus University Leaders Discuss Future of Youth
Dmitry Bespalov (Rector, NCFU) joined a meeting held by North Caucasus University leaders to discuss the issues related to employment for university graduates within the region.
The meeting was held online where the participants focused on the most urgent issues on developing the staff potential to meet the needs of the region’s economy.
The thing is that in the recent years North Caucasus has been facing an issue typical of all remote areas – population drain, including talented youngsters. The respective statistics shows that the North Caucasus annual population decrease is no less than 50,000 people, including 10 – 50% of school graduates aged 17 – 21.
As Dmitry Bespalov noted, the major task for the university in this case is to ensure that university graduates enjoy demand at the local labor market.
– Today, in order to shape the human and intellectual capital in our macroregion, it is important to create comfortable, competitive conditions to train and employ talented young people of the North Caucasus. And this can only be done if the academic community and the regional authorities join efforts, - Dmitry Bespalov was quoted as saying.
