NCFU to Start Psychological Service
The North-Caucasus Federal University is to launch a psychological service for students and staff. Starting this year, the service is going to be launched in 15 universities of Russia.
Recent studies have shown that 20.9% of freshmen suffer from emotional issues, while 8.7% of youngsters have troubles interacting with peers. All these people need support yet this is not always available – only 22% of all universities of Russia have respective services with another 55% having only one psychologist on the staff.

– The creation of the said services in Russian universities will offer students equal access to qualified psychological assistance. Besides, it will serve a good way to prevent our staff and students’ crisis, emotional burnout, personal and professional issues, – Tatiana Banshchikova (Head of Research and Education Center for Psychological Support, NCFU) was quoted.
Psychological services will be arranged as university divisions staffed with respectively qualified experts. The entire project is to be coordinated by the Russian Academy of Sciences.
By 2025, psychological services are to be functioning in all universities of Russia.
