Starting the new academic year on, NCFU is to launch History of Religions of Russia – a new training course, which is already being tested in a number of Russian universities, including one of the leading academic institutions in the North Caucasus.
The course in question is being developed and introduced subject to a special request from President of Russia Vladimir Putin based on the outcomes of a meeting he had with historian and religious authorities. Now, the unique course is to be launched on September 1 in all universities of Russia.

– I believe this is an important step in our country’s education policy, and this is, above all, aimed at expanding our students’ knowledge about the religious heritage of Russia. The knowledge will be of use in terms of gaining understanding of the historical basics of our religious traditions, also adding to the development of the moral and spiritual values, – Dmitry Bespalov (Rector, NCFU) was quoted as saying.
NCFU has been appointed as the coordinator introducing the new course into all the universities of the region.
History of Religions of Russia will be taught as a training course within a set of disciplines belonging to the socio-humanities, and will be delivered by teachers after they complete specifically designed refresher training.
